How high should your TV be mounted? For seated living-room viewing, center the screen at about 42 inches from the floor — seated eye level for most adults. Bedrooms sit slightly higher (~46" center), standing spaces like game rooms and bars closer to 60", and above a fireplace the mantel sets the height, not eye level.
Screen height assumes a 16:9 panel (screen height ≈ diagonal × 0.49). Couch distance is the 4K sweet spot of 1–1.5× the diagonal.
